Bare Wires. Excuse me if I gush, but I get weak at the knees when I hear pop music this economical and uptempo paired with vocal melodies this sweetly crisp. The Bare Wires, signed to John Dwyer of Thee Oh Sees' label
Castle Face Records, seem forged out of the remnants of a 1970s jukebox with all the stains from years of spilled beer and chewed gum coming along for the ride. Whereas fellow 70s revivalist Free Energy sound fresh out of the wash, Bare Wires pay homage to their influences with a dirtier fuzz and lo-fi sincerity.
