Announcing Analog Edition Records

gif animatorsDearest Readers,

It is with great pleasure that I announce the launch of Analog Edition Records. Our goal is to help elevate great music we've encountered on the internet by giving it a personalized analog home on the music world's most timeless format: vinyl records. The idea arose out of a simple comment I made here on Everybody Taste. I was responding to a commenter about the artist I had reviewed, Blake Mills, when I enthusiastically wrote that I hoped someone would re-release his music on vinyl. After I’d finished typing, I thought, can I do that? And thanks to Mills and the good folks at his label, Record Collection, I am. Analog Edition currently has two releases—a 7” and 10”—making their way through the pressing plant with hopefully many more to come.

In addition to vinyl, Analog Edition will also be releasing a periodic music zine filled with criticism, in-depth analysis, and musings on yours and our favorite musicians and bands. The independent and handmade zine is meant to be an alternative space for online-based writers: a physical platform where long-form journalism and opinionated critiques can be enjoyed at leisure on the couch with a cup of coffee or on a lawn chair with a cold six-pack. All contributors will have either a music blog or related online presence. Read more about the zine here. If you're interested in submitting, please follow the instructions at our submissions page.

Thank you for stopping by.

Sincerely,

Everybody Taste

  1. This is fantastic!
I've had my fingers crossed for a vinyl release of Blake Mills, and I love you for doing this. I'm pre-ordering asap!
