The Shape of Things by Oakland band Man/Miracle is a manic and sweated over record that's rhythmically charged with a schizophrenic wrecking ball force. The album's ten songs are all written about the decrepit house that served as the band's living quarters, rehearsal space and occasional basement venue. Singer/guitarist Dylan Travis explains it best: "The cover is a picture of the Ryugyong Hotel, which is this building in North Korea that's falling apart but has been under construction since 1987.
