Dune Rats - "Wooo!"

Scrappy Australian outfit Dune Rats have amassed an impressive following in a short period of time, thanks to their undeniably catchy spin on outsider garage rock. Though there's a constant slacker veneer surrounding henchmen Danny Beusa and BC Michaels, these two Brisbane natives are also clearly working their asses off as they travel back and forth from Australia to the States for month-long tours. Even their February-released "Red Light, Green Light" video—an absurd two-and-a-half minute long bong race—showcases serious ingenuity, as the band developed the concept directly with their fan base. Now after just 25 days, it has over 120,000 views. But it's this duo's music that has me writing, and in particular, it's the strummy "Wooo!" There really isn't a standout hook or moment here, but rather an overall inescapable feeling of being young, hopelessly excited, and charmingly directionless.
