Born in a favela (otherwise known as a shanty town) in Brazil, Seu Jorge—who famously covered David Bowie songs in The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou and played the tragic character Knockout Ned in City of God—has risen to become one of Brazil's most talented and widely recognized artists. And while an acoustic Portuguese cover of "Life On Mars" may send chills up my spine, there's also something to be said for Jorge's original, largely samba-influenced work—a perfect summertime pairing.Seu Jorge - "Chega No Suingue" (from Carolina)
